Gastroenterology Services in Tucson

Our Services

Arizona Gastroenterology diagnoses and treats conditions of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, colon and liver. Our board-certified gastroenterologists and nurse practitioners have cared for Tucson patients since 1980, from routine colon cancer screening to specialized esophageal testing.

Procedures

Screening Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy finds and removes precancerous polyps before they become colorectal cancer. Most adults at average risk should begin screening at age 45.

Diagnostic Colonoscopy

Used to investigate symptoms such as rectal bleeding, changes in bowel habits, chronic diarrhea or unexplained anemia.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

A shorter exam of the rectum and lower colon, often used to evaluate bleeding or inflammation.

Upper Endoscopy (EGD)

A thin camera examines the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine to evaluate reflux, trouble swallowing, ulcers and upper abdominal pain.

Esophageal Manometry & pH Monitoring

These tests, including Bravo testing, measure how the esophagus moves and how much acid reaches it. Arizona Gastroenterology performed the first esophageal manometry and pH monitoring in Tucson.

Radiofrequency Ablation for Barrett’s Esophagus

A treatment that removes abnormal cells in the lining of the esophagus to lower the risk of esophageal cancer.

Hemorrhoid Treatment

Evaluation and treatment for symptomatic hemorrhoids.

InterStim Therapy for Bowel Incontinence

A small implanted device that helps restore bowel control. Fecal incontinence is not a normal part of aging, and it can be treated.
